I’m a recent transplant from New York and this was my first big move. I had some reservations about finding the right place, especially after spending 6 years in my last apartment. While the 2 bedroom floor plan here that we wanted wasn’t available on the time frame we’re working on, Christian was lovely to work with! The property itself is great as well; we just couldn’t make a 1 bedroom happen with both of us working from home. I really appreciated Christian’s follow through and attention to detail, even though we ultimately did not lease here.

I'm looking to move in July and made an appointment to start looking around. I got the opportunity to tour with Christian and he was so friendly and kind. He let me know that it's a little early to know exactly what will be available during my time frame, but spent time showing me how to apply and offered to follow up and check in during late May. I really like both the location and the floor plans I saw!

My partner and I just moved to Seattle and Christian has been so unbelievably helpful with our transition. The property is clean and from what we have experienced, a safe place to live. Management has been extremely accommodating and bent over backwards to make sure we feel welcome and appreciated as tenants. I’m really enjoying having Terri as the manager. She has been very quick and responsive whenever I have reached out she has done a great job of addressing the issues that I have brought to her attention. On her first week of working here there was an issue with my toilet and she offered to clean it for me. I also haven’t had any issues with my mail get stolen since she’s been here. She very hands on and it’s very much appreciated. It’s always nice when someone listens, but it’s even better when someone gets shit done. Thank you Terri!

I currently live in these apartments, when I arrived here the manager was really kind and supportive when translating all the documentation into Spanish. It is a cozy, safe and pleasant place. My only point to improve is that in the hallway on the 2nd floor the carpet is always dirty and has an unpleasant smell, due to the dragging of a neighbor's garbage, and even if they clean it, it is the same every week. I know that this has more to do with my neighbor's hygiene, but perhaps the new administration can put emphasis on the care and cleanliness of our beautiful building. 👍

I recently moved here from Michigan. New to the area entirely. The Management here was very welcoming and helpful with the entire process. Jordan who is in the office is very responsive and has made the move extremely simple! The apartment is excellent and exactly how it has appeared online. Looking at housing thousands of miles away can be difficult and not what it appears. Been here for about 5 months now and I have nothing to complain about. I did submit a Maintenance request… THAT WAS COMPLETED THE SAME DAY. That was AMAZING. Other places I’ve lived have taken WEEKS even over a month to get maintenance to even LOOK at the issues. Not this place. Clint- my man! That was so fast and so smooth. Super kind and thoughtful, even asked if there was anything we would like him to look at while here. Excellent work. Unreal how quick that maintenance order was completed. As much as I want zero problems in the apartment, I wouldn’t be worried with Clint around! Thanks again Hiawatha Team! ☝🏼

I’ve had such a hard time with moving, especially in an area I am not familiar with. I was so frustrated with the entire process and ready to call it quits. However, the team at this apartment complex; went ABOVE AND BEYOND, despite the issues; the entire team from Jordan, Shelly, Akasha, Clint— they processed my application, and ensured my move in, was as smooth as possible. Installed dishwasher in respectful and timely manner. 3/28/2024 I have an update on my review from above. Maybe Jordan had a bad day. I walked to office with a smile and greeting, I was told SIT. I was whoa… im not a dog. i said I’ll stand. She said ok stand over here. I was like that’s freakin rude. She had a big attitude during this transaction of conversation. It was unwarranted I stand by my previous statement, however their some character issues. You just don’t speak to People that way. She is still new and probably overwhelmed and the job is catching up her.

A few weeks ago, my apartment flooded, but it was no big deal. The on-site management and on-call maintenance team responded instantly, getting their hands dirty to fix the immediate issue and calling in the cavalry to protect the unit and keep me safe. They actually mopped my place just so I'd be comfortable. Wow.

I have loved my experience at 999 Hiawatha Apartments! The new renovations have upgraded the property so much and have made it feel so luxurious to be there. Property Manager, Alma is always prompt and helpful with responding to any issues. The live monitoring security gives me such piece of mind that the building is safe even after office hours.

Had a few hiccups pre-move and would have been a 3 star with the original maintenance team. However the new maintenance person (Will?) finished my urgent request same day and is a delight to run into when passing through the hallways. Still have a few requests out there since my pre-move-in date but I can see Will is trying to actually get it moving. Would recommend thoroughly inspecting your unit prior to move-in to avoid any issues after you've settled in.

Just recently moved in and everything has been great. The management staff is great to work with, and they address any issues or concerns presented to them. Karli has been great addressing all my questions and concerns. Maintenance have been swift to address the few issues I had. And I really appreciate Stephen being so prompt in addressing my maintenance needs. This has been a great experience, and I am enjoying living here. Keep up the good work management and staff!!!!!!

I lived here for a year and I chose it because of my budget and they offered me free parking as a first year promo. I'd say the rent prices here are justifiable for the quality and location. This isn't the most popular neighborhood in Seattle - it's right off Rainier Ave (lots of homeless and old abandoned business buildings). It is a gentrifying area. But keep in mind that this place is right off I-90 (huge plus for those of us who go to the Eastside a lot) and a short drive from downtown and Capitol Hill, so that contributes to the rent price. Demographic appears to be mostly 20-60 yo professionals but I've also seen some families with kids and people older than 60 living there. Never had any issues with noise or rowdiness from other residents. Not a lot of noticeable parties going on here at night. Never seen anyone sketchy looking walk into the building. Maintenance issues were always responded to within a day and management always got back to me within a day. All the managers and the maintenance guy are friendly. Only bummer is that the management office is closed on weekends so if you're key fob isn't working or something you have to wait until Monday.

I liked living here for three years, 2017-2020. It was relatively affordable (for Seattle), new-ish units and appliances, street parking was easy, and it was well managed. Lots of parks and running/biking paths nearby. It's a little far from the livelier neighborhoods of Seattle, though I walked to Capitol Hill and Pioneer Square plenty of times from here. All in all, it was a fine place to live.
